At the Fall Symposium of the Dutch Federation of Nephrology held in Utrecht on October 10th, Tom Nieskens of the Dept. Pharmacology and Toxicology was awarded the prize for the best poster for his presentation entitled 'A human renal proximal tubule cell line predictive for drug-induced nephrotoxicity'.
At the same meeting, Esther Peters of the Depts. Pharmacology and Toxicology and Intensive Care Medicine received the second prize for best oral presentation on her research 'Alkaline phosphatase protects against renal inflammation through dephosphorylation of LPS and ATP'.
