On World Kidney Day a large multidisciplinary team of Radboudumc kidney researchers made a seminal contribution to raise awareness for kidney disease.

As most of you know, the kidneys play a major role in the secretion of waste products. To symbolize this function, they went to the Waal beach in Nijmegen to collect 340 kilo waste along the river.

This initiative was supported by the Dutch Kidney Foundation, Dar NV and COOP grocery store. It was a nice social event in which they raised awareness for kidney disease and contributed to a healthier environment all in one go.
